We are in the Dutch ‘Greece magazine’ about our house in Karpathos!

Last Friday we told you all via Facebook & Youtube: the winter edition of Greece magazine is now in the shop and we are in there with a very cool interview! In this blog, we would like to tell you more about how the interview with Greece magazine started and about what we think of the result. Enjoy!

Where it all started

As you know if you have been following us for some time, then you know that at the beginning of this year we got the keys from our house on Karpathos. We have arranged the purchase of the house through Elxis. This is a broker for Dutch and Belgians who want to buy (or sell) a house in Greece. Vangelis, our contact person, found us a special choice (because who buys a second home in Greece before their 25th haha!) for the magazine. He then approached us whether we saw an interview for Greece magazine about our house. Of course, we found that fantastic and so a week later Frederiek contacted us. She is a journalist and always writes the columns ‘Moving away’ in the Greece magazine. That interview then took place a week later at our home!

The interview

Frederiek was the journalist who came to Greece for our magazine for the interview. Vincent was a bit skeptical about a ‘real interview’ in the beginning. I think he was a bit in his head with journalists for those gossip magazines haha! This interview is really fun! It did not feel like a question fire or anything at all. We just had a nice chat about our house, Karpathos and our future dreams. Frederiek also told about her love for Greece and especially their wines. At the end of her visit, we still got her book Grapes and Dregs – A journey through Greek vineyards. In this book she takes you on a journey through Greece, taking you into the Greek wine culture. We have not read the book yet (I know, lack of time is not an excuse, but we use it haha!). In any case, it goes to Greece, where we, but also others can read if they stay with us.

We would like to give a shoutout to Frederiek: Thanks for the pleasant talk at our home and a fantastic article & your book 🙂

Greece magazine in the mailbox

We had to wait almost two months, but on Thursday it finally happened: the magazine was on the doormat! What has become the cool say! We had already read the text a while ago, because we had to approve it, but it was again wonderful to read. Our story is really so beautifully translated in this text, you read it with a lot of feeling. Especially if you are already familiar with Karpathos you will be able to recognize many things that have been written in the Greece magazine. The information is also very cool. All the photos we have sent to add to the article have been used. How great is it that all your photos are in a magazine?! Yes. We are so very happy and proud of it. We will definitely take the magazine to Greece and hang it on the wall in a nice list 🙂

If you are in the Netherlands, please go to the bookstore and let us know what you think of the article!
