Tag | That Wanderlust
It’s time for another tag again! I came across the wanderlust tag on many different blogs, yet they all seem to have different questions. I decided to put all the questions together and here it is: the tag That Wanderlust.
Your most treasured passport stamp?
Honestly, I have to admit that I don’t have one real stamp on my passport because I’ve never been to a country where I needed one. I have one unofficial stamp in my passport from the time I’ve visited Pyramiden, a small village on Svalbard. This place is so close to the North Pole and the journey was very special, so that’s my favourite!
Can you recite your passport number from memory if asked?
No, I don’t. I only know my personal number from memory. Oh, but I do know the expire that of my passport, does that count? 😉
Your preferred method of travel: planes, trains or automobiles?
I prefer the plane, it is the fastest option. However, on the destination, a car is the best option I think because you can go wherever you want to!
Top three travel items?
- My phone, to take pictures and to look for information about the destination.
- My camera, because it’s better than my phone
- And a book, so I’ll never get bored!
Hostel or hotel?
Hotel! I am such ad bad sleeper. I really need it to be quiet and I like a clean room with a good comfortable bed. It also would be terrible to have the toilet on the corridor, because I need so often during the night, so I just need one in my room.
Are you a repeat visitor or do you explore new places?
I am really a repeat visitor. Next year it is going to be my 14th year on Karpathos. But I also like to go ones a year to a different place, but I don’t think that gonna happen next year because if everything works out with the house we are buying on Karpathos, We want to spend all our money and time there of course.
Do you read up on your destination (culture, history, safety) or do you wing it?
I book a trip always very early and from then on the research starts. I love to spend time searching the internet for tips about the destination like where to stay, eat and what to do.
Favourite travel website?
I love to search for travel inspiration and pictures on Pinterest!
Where would you recommend a friend to visit? Name the city and why.
Of course, I would recommend them to visit Karpathos because it is the place I fell in love with. But it would also depends on a little bit on the person, but I think Karpathos is not the right destination for everyone.
You’re leaving tomorrow, money is no option, where are you going?
I would love to go to Australia if money wouldn’t be the problem! And put New Zealand on that list as well!
Where would you travel to just to eat the food?
Greece! I love the Greek food the most. But Italian food is also a good option.
How do you pass the time on an airplane?
The most flights I have taken in my life where flights in the early morning around 5 or 6 o’clock, so most of the time I (try!) to sleep on the place. On the way back I enjoy watching a movie if that is possible or I read a book.
Do you prefer the Window, Aisle, or Middle seat?
I prefer the aisle seat. I know that I need to go to the toilet mostly twice (short flight), so if I have the aisle seat I don’t need to bother anyone. Luckily most of the time Vincent or I have the aisle seat and otherwise, I just ask the person who has the aisle seat if he would be bothered if I need to use the bathroom otherwise we can change seats.
Is there a place you would never go again?
I’ve been to Albufeira ones and I would never go there again. I can’t really say why I just didn’t like the place. They are really focused on the English tourist.
Where was your first plane to?
I was two years old and we went to Menorca.
Where have you travelled to that you would love to visit again?
Of course, I would say Karpathos again, but I also would go again to Norway, which I visit last year.
By the way, no idea from who the tag is, But if you want to fill it in as well let me know, okay? 🙂
